Ignite a New Understanding of the Power of Trust with
Jason O. Harris
Manufacturing & Industrial Keynote Speaker
Trust, Built the Way a Flight Crew Builds It
Lt Col (ret) Jason O. Harris turns trust from a buzzword into an operating system. Across 27+ years in uniform, 11 combat deployments, and 470 combat missions, he built the No Fail Trust framework over the course of his career, working with high performance teams, culminating with commanding a flying squadron — then spent the years since translating it for manufacturing and industrial teams who run on the same basic math a flight crew runs on: skill without a system for trust underneath it breaks the first time the pressure is real. Today, as an active Boeing 777 pilot and author of No Fail Trust: The Flight Manual for Building Teams That Deliver Under Pressure (Forefront Books), Jason gives frontline and plant leadership a framework for building the kind of trust that holds under production pressure.
Why Jason O. Harris is the Perfect Speaker for the Manufacturing Industry
Ask a plant manager how someone becomes a supervisor, and most of the time the answer is the same: they were good on the line. Nobody argues with that logic until the day it fails — the day a technically excellent operator is standing in front of a team for the first time with zero training in the actual job of leading people, and the gap between “knows the equipment” and “can be trusted to run the shift” shows up as turnover, a near-miss, or a team that stops telling their new supervisor the truth. Jason built the No Fail Trust framework the same way manufacturing leaders build a production system: under real consequences. Commanding a flying squadron, the difference between functional trust — can this person do the job — and relational trust — would I hand them something I can't afford to lose — was never theoretical. It showed up in whether a crew flew safely. He brings that same distinction to the plant floor: training that builds competence, process that builds consistency, and a leader who has earned the standing to ask a team to trust both.
The Research Behind No Fail Trust®
In 2024, Jason commissioned a national research study through the Center for Generational Kinetics (CGK), surveying 1,000 working Americans across industries about trust, leadership, and workplace culture. The findings back up exactly what shows up on a plant floor when a new supervisor is set up to fail:
- 88% of working Americans report higher productivity when they have a strong, established sense of trust in their leaders.
- 77% say they would leave a company if they didn't feel they could trust leadership.
- 65% research a company's culture before accepting a job — which matters directly when you're competing for skilled trades in a tight labor market.
- 83% trust a boss or CEO more when that leader openly admits a mistake and owns it.
The full findings are published in Jason's white paper, From Trust to Transformation: The First-of-Its-Kind National Study on Elevating Culture and Performance in the Modern Workforce.

Aviate, Navigate, Communicate
The Seven Skill Sets for Solving Problems Before the Emergency Lights Start Flashing
Every high-performing team needs a framework for the moment something breaks, one that's built and practiced long before the crisis hits. Jason breaks down the same three-step protocol he trained on as a pilot, aviate, navigate, communicate, and the seven skill sets underneath it, using the Apollo 13 crisis as the case study: professional knowledge, situational awareness, assertiveness, decision-making, communication, leadership, and adaptability. Drawn from his book, No Fail Trust.
- Who get rattled by unexpected problems instead of moving through them calmly
- Who need a shared vocabulary for how the team handles pressure, not just individual heroics
- Who want a keynote that connects directly to a framework they can keep using after the event
- The Aviate, Navigate, Communicate framework for staying in control when something breaks
- The Seven Skill Sets that make high-trust problem-solving repeatable instead of accidental
- A clear read on which of the seven skill sets is their team's biggest gap right now
More Than a Keynote
A keynote is often the starting point, not the whole engagement. Jason also works directly with executive teams through immersion days and executive coaching.
Susan Stuart first heard Jason speak at the Baldrige Foundation's Quest for Excellence Conference, before she brought him in to work directly with the leadership team at the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE), a past recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, ahead of her retirement after more than two decades as President/CEO. Before the workshop, Jason interviewed CORE's leadership team to understand their culture and the concerns surrounding the transition, then built a half-day session around what he learned.
"Most importantly, Jason helped our team strengthen the relationships and trust necessary to move forward together in service of CORE's mission to Save and Heal lives through donation. At a pivotal moment in our organization's history, he left our leadership team feeling motivated, connected and prepared for the future."
— Susan Stuart, Former President/CEO, Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE)
If your organization needs more than a single session on a stage, ask about an immersion day or an ongoing executive coaching engagement.
